Ventilation Collar Saddle for Round Ducts
Product Description
A ventilation saddle (or take-off) is a fitting used to create a branch from an existing main round duct. The saddle has a concave base that matches the radius of the main pipe and a round spigot for connecting the new branch.
This element allows for the quick and cost-effective organization of a T-connection or an angled take-off without cutting the main duct completely.
Key Features and Options
- Types and Availability: Standard pressed saddles (with spigots up to D-315 mm) are available from stock. Segmented (welded) saddles for larger diameters are made to order.
- Airtightness Options: The standard version is supplied with an EPDM rubber gasket on the spigot for Class "D" airtightness. A version without a gasket can be manufactured upon request (to reduce cost).
- Available Angles: We produce saddles with spigots at 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90°. Manufacturing in any other non-standard design is also possible upon your request.
- Mounting Options: The standard version has a mounting flange (10-15 mm). For easier installation, manufacturing with additional sheet metal flanges is possible.
- Special Versions: We produce various non-standard versions, including offset saddles (flat shoes, curved boot, offset branches) based on your drawings.
Available Types and Sizes
We produce saddles for all possible combinations of main duct (D1) and branch (D2) diameters, where the branch is less than or equal to the main. Below are examples of standard combinations.

Material and Thickness (for all types):
- Material: Galvanized steel DX51+Z275. Stainless steel (AISI430, AISI304, AISI316), aluminum, and powder coating (according to RAL or RR catalogs) are available on request.
- Thickness: From 0.5 to 0.9 mm depending on the diameter.
- Certification: The products comply with CE, EN 1505:2000 and EN 1506:2007 standards.
Application and Installation Tips
- Preparation: An opening corresponding to the inner diameter of the saddle's spigot must be cut into the main duct.
- Fastening: Fastening is done with rivets or self-tapping metal screws around the entire perimeter of the flange.
- Sealing: The joint between the saddle flange and the main duct must be thoroughly sealed with aluminum tape or sealant.
Availability and Ordering
- Availability: Standard pressed 90° saddles (e.g., 100/100, 125/100, 160/160, 200/160, etc.) are kept in stock or delivered within short lead times.
- Custom Order: On request, all diameter combinations (D1/D2) for 90° and 45° saddles (full list see above), saddles without a rubber gasket (to reduce cost), non-standard angles, and any other non-standard variations (including the materials specified in the characteristics) are available.
