Rectangular Flat Tap (Straight Take-off)
Product Description
The flat tap is a fitting designed to connect a new branch to an existing or planned rectangular air duct. It is mounted directly into the wall of the main duct (trunk).
This is an ideal solution when it is necessary to create a branch in the ventilation network without dismantling the main trunk. The product ensures a transition from the flat surface of a large duct to a rectangular channel of smaller or similar cross-section.
Key Features and Production Options
- Individual configuration: The standard tap is positioned at a 90° angle to the plane. However, according to your project, we can manufacture taps at an angle (from 45°) or with a center offset (eccentric), which allows bypassing complex communication sections.
- Ready for installation: The outlet side of the tap is equipped with a standard flange for docking with the continuing air duct. The mounting side has a prepared hem for convenient fastening to the main duct wall.
- Durability: The item is made of Z275 galvanized steel. For specific tasks (clean rooms, aggressive environments), manufacturing from stainless steel (AISI 304/316) or painting in any color from the RAL palette is possible.

Installation Recommendations
- Installation process: For installation, it is necessary to cut a hole of the corresponding size in the wall of the main air duct. The tap is attached to the plane using self-tapping screws for metal or rivets.
- Sealing: The contact point between the tap and the main line is critical for leaks. Be sure to apply a layer of silicone sealant between the tap flange and the duct wall before fixing with fasteners.
- Branch support: Since the tap changes the weight balance, when connecting a long section of pipe to it, this section must be secured with separate suspensions (threaded rod + profile) as close to the tap location as possible.
