Rectangular Reducer

Product Description

A rectangular ventilation reducer is a fitting designed to connect two air ducts of different cross-sections. It is used to narrow or expand the air channel, which is necessary for adjusting airflow velocity or connecting the main line to ventilation equipment.

The item ensures the smoothest possible change in flow aerodynamics. The reducer length (L) is standardized and depends on the cross-section dimensions so that the wall inclination angle does not create excessive resistance and noise.

Key Features and Execution Types

  • Geometry for the task: Reducers come in two main types, which is important to specify when ordering:
    • Symmetric: The centers of both openings coincide. Used in open spaces.
    • Eccentric (Offset): One of the sides remains straight (flat). This is necessary when the air duct needs to be routed flush against a ceiling or wall, changing its size only "down" or "sideways".
  • Design: The item is equipped with flanges on both sides for quick joining. To maintain rigidity on large surfaces, transverse beading (stiffening ribs) is applied.
  • Materials: Z275 galvanized steel (standard), stainless steel (AISI 304/316), or powder coating in RAL colors.

Specifications and Dimensions

Below are the articles for standard cross-sections. The reducer length (L) increases with the cross-section growth to maintain aerodynamics.

Installation Recommendations

  • Important when ordering: Be sure to attach a drawing, sketch, or specify the top/side view (e.g., "flat bottom" or "centers coincide").
  • Sealing: Flange connections require sealing tape or sealant application.
  • Support: The reducer often connects heavy sections of the route. It is recommended to install mounting threaded rods with profiles immediately before and after the reducer to relieve tensile load.
