Ventilation Backdraught Damper (Non-Return Valve)
Product Description
A ventilation backdraught damper (non-return valve) is an automatic device used to prevent the reverse flow of air in a ventilation system. It is essential for stopping cold air, odors, or insects from entering the room from outside when the fan is turned off.
The damper has a movable blade (or blades) that opens under the pressure of airflow in the correct direction and automatically closes as soon as the flow stops.
Key Features and Options
- Automatic Operation: Requires no manual control or power supply; opens and closes with the force of the airflow.
- Airtight Connection: The standard version is supplied with an EPDM rubber gasket on the edges for a tight and secure installation.
- Connection Type: The damper has a "male" ("-") design and is intended for installation inside a round duct of the corresponding diameter.

Material and Thickness (for all types):
- Material: Galvanized steel DX51+Z275. Stainless steel (AISI430, AISI304, AISI316) and powder coating (according to RAL or RR catalogs) are available on request.
- Thickness: From 0.5 to 0.9 mm depending on the diameter.
- Certification: The products comply with CE, EN 1505:2000 and EN 1506:2007 standards.
Application and Installation Tips
- Installation: The damper is inserted inside the duct. The rubber gasket on the casing ensures a tight fit.
- Direction: Ensure the damper is installed so that the blade can open freely in the direction of the airflow (there is usually an arrow on the damper casing indicating flow).
- Fastening: It is recommended to secure the damper body inside the duct with self-tapping screws or rivets.
- Sealing: When installing a version without a gasket (custom order), the joint between the damper body and the duct must be sealed with aluminum tape.
Availability and Ordering
- Availability: Standard backdraught dampers (up to D-315), shown in the table, are always in stock.
- Custom Order: It is possible to order non-standard elements at the customer's request (including larger diameters and materials specified in the characteristics).
