External Ventilation Grilles
Description and Purpose
This section presents specialized solutions for finishing ventilation outlets on the building facade. An external grille is not just a decorative element, but an important part of the engineering system that prevents the ingress of precipitation (snow, rain), birds, rodents, and large debris into the air ducts.
We offer three main types of products, differing in material and operating principle:
- YGAV (Aluminum): Classic round cast grille of high durability.
- UVLA (Stainless Steel): Grille with a protective hood for maximum protection against driving rain and wind.
- Gravity louvers: Plastic grilles with movable blades acting as a back draft damper.
Features of Each Model
- Model YGAV (Cast Aluminum):
- Made of thick cast aluminum (thickness ~5 mm), making it resistant to impact and corrosion.
- Equipped with inclined blades and a built-in fine mesh against insects and fluff.
- The round flange is easily inserted inside the pipe.
- Model UVLA (Stainless Steel):
- Made of brushed stainless steel (AISI), giving the facade a modern look.
- The hemispherical hood effectively directs airflow downwards, completely preventing wind blow-in and water ingress even during storms.
- Also equipped with a protective mesh.
- Gravity louvers (Back draft damper):
- Blades open by airflow from the fan and close automatically under their own weight when the system is off.
- Ideal for exhaust systems (kitchen hoods, bathrooms), preventing back draft and cold air penetration in winter.
- Material: UV-resistant plastic (PVC) or aluminum (depending on the model).

Note: YGAV sizes over 500 mm are made of galvanized steel, not cast aluminum. Large gravity grilles are available upon request.
Installation Recommendations
- Sealing: When installing any external grille, be sure to use silicone sealant along the perimeter of the contact with the facade to prevent water from leaking under the frame and damaging the wall.
- Fastening: YGAV and UVLA grilles have a spigot for insertion into the pipe but require additional fixation with screws to the facade or pipe. You may need mounting elements.
- Adjustment: These grilles do not have built-in adjustment. To control air volume, it is recommended to equip the duct with a damper (throttle valve) of the corresponding diameter.
- For gravity grilles: It is critically important to install them strictly level. If the grille is tilted, the blades may not close tightly or may get stuck.
