Rectangular Plate Silencer
Product Description
Rectangular duct silencers are designed to effectively reduce aerodynamic noise generated by fans, air conditioners, and air passing through ducts. The device is installed directly into the break of a rectangular channel.
Structurally, the product is a metal box containing vertical sound-absorbing plates (baffles). Passing between the plates, sound waves are dampened in a layer of mineral fiber, ensuring acoustic comfort in the served premises and outdoors (during air discharge).
Key Features and Operating Conditions
- Plate construction: Baffles made of sound-absorbing material (basalt wool or fiberglass) with a protective coating preventing fiber blowout are installed inside the casing. Standard plate thickness and spacing is 100 mm.
- Materials: The casing is made of DX51D+Z275 galvanized steel. High zinc density (275 g/m²) protects the product from corrosion.
- Environmental requirements: Silencers are designed for operation with clean air. The flow must not contain sticky substances, grease (kitchen hoods), or abrasive particles, as they can clog the porous structure of the plates, reducing noise suppression efficiency.
- Operating parameters: Maximum transported air temperature is +60°C. Maximum permissible flow velocity is 10 m/s (to prevent self-generated noise on the plates).
Specifications and Dimensions
Standard casing length is 1250 mm. Below are articles for popular cross-sections, however, we manufacture silencers of any size with a 50 mm step.

Installation Recommendations
- "Straight section" rule: To achieve rated noise suppression performance, it is recommended to install the silencer so that there is a straight duct section of at least 1.0 meter before it. This equalizes airflow before entering the plates.
- Weight load: Silencers are significantly heavier than standard ducts due to plate filling. Fastening must be done on independent suspensions using reinforced mounting profiles (traverses) and threaded rods so as not to load adjacent system elements.
- Sealing: Flange connections require mandatory sealing to prevent air leaks.
