Den Braven Ventilation Sealant (Acryl Ducting Seal) is a high-quality one-component plasto-elastic sealant based on an acrylic dispersion. The product is specifically engineered for sealing connection joints and seams in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) ductwork systems. It has been thoroughly tested and approved according to the stringent international standard DIN EN ISO 846 (parts A and C), guaranteeing excellent resistance to bacteria, fungi, and micro-organisms within air systems. The formulation delivers premium primerless adhesion to most common building substrates, including slightly damp absorbent surfaces, and is completely non-corrosive towards metals.

Design and Operational Features:

• Specialized Sanitary Standard: Compliance with DIN EN ISO 846 makes this compound optimal for air ducting installations in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities with strict indoor air quality requirements.
• Easy Application: The product is virtually odorless, simple to tool, can be smoothed out with water, and can be applied with a brush if required by the joint configuration.
• Paintability: Once fully dry, the sealant can be painted over with water-based and synthetic paints (testing compatibility prior to application is recommended with highly water-based paints to prevent cracking).
• Porous Substrate Treatment: Highly porous surfaces such as gypsum, aerated concrete, and limestone must be primed beforehand with a mixture of 1 part sealant to 2 parts water.
• Limitations: Not designed for joints subjected to continuous water submersion or exposure. Not suitable for substrates made of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, neoprene, and bituminous materials.
