Metal Gable (Rake) Flashing for Asphalt Roofing

The metal gable (rake) flashing for asphalt roofs is a specialized flashing element designed with consideration for water drainage physics on flat roofing materials (asphalt shingles, torch-on roll roofing). The product protects the exposed edge of the solid decking from moisture penetration, prevents wind uplift of the roofing membrane, and serves an aesthetic function in finishing the gable.

Unlike elements for profiled roofs, this flashing features a profile with a raised water diverter barrier and is installed beneath the roofing material, ensuring maximum waterproofing of the gable assembly.

Design Features:

• Raised Water Barrier (Diverter Lip): The main technical feature of the profile is the raised angle (flange B). It creates an insurmountable barrier that prevents rainwater from spilling sideways over the gable edge, directing the flow strictly down the slope into the gutter system.
• Under-Roof Installation: The horizontal flange (A) is laid directly on the wooden substrate (OSB or plywood) underneath the bituminous material, which eliminates leaks and makes the assembly completely watertight.
• Bargeboard Protection: The vertical flange (C) covers the roof edge, protecting it from wind-driven rain and UV radiation.
• Complex Drip Edge: The lower part of the element is equipped with a kick-out (20 mm angled bend and 10 mm horizontal hem), which effectively breaks off water droplets, preventing them from creeping onto the wooden facade.
• Material Variety: Manufactured from galvanized steel, stainless steel, and polymer-coated metal (Polyester, PURal, PVC), allowing the color to perfectly match the roofing granules.
