The Rafter & Joist Support is a structural component designed to provide lateral (horizontal) stability for vertical pipes and ducts where they pass through building structures, such as intermediate floors (joists) or the roof system (rafters). It is suitable for various systems, including insulated chimneys, single-wall flue pipes, and ventilation ducts. Its main purpose is to securely fix the pipe's position, preventing displacement and vibrations.

Key Features

• Lateral Stability: The support firmly secures any vertical pipe, preventing it from swaying under wind loads (in the attic) or shifting over time, which is a key safety factor.
• Two Design Versions:
  • Rafter Support (1-leg version): Consists of a clamp and one profile arm ("leg"). It is used for fixing the pipe to a single rafter or beam.
  • Joist Support (2-leg version): Consists of a clamp and two profile arms. It is used for rigid fixing of the pipe between two joists or rafters.
• Adjustable Arm Length: The "legs" of the support come in standard lengths (800 or 1000 mm) that can be cut on-site for a precise fit to the distance between structural elements.
• Reliable Construction: The component is made from high-strength steel and is certified according to the EN-10090-2 standard for welded structures, confirming its high load-bearing capacity.

Application & IMPORTANT INSTALLATION RULES

• Not a Primary Weight Support: This bracket provides only lateral (horizontal) support. The vertical weight of the system must be supported by appropriate floor supports or wall-mounted base supports.
• Maintain Clearances: When installing, the required fire safety clearances between the pipe/duct and any combustible structural elements (wooden beams, rafters) must be strictly maintained. Clearances depend on the type of system being installed.
• Secure Fastening: The support arms must be securely fastened to the building's structural members (rafters, joists) using appropriate hardware (e.g., bolts, lag screws).
