Rubber Plug for Ventilation Distribution Manifolds
The rubber plug is a specialized sealing element designed for the permanent, hermetic closure of unused ports on distribution manifolds and plenum boxes. The installation of this component prevents uncontrolled air leakage into the ceiling void through open branches, maintaining a stable, calculated operating pressure and ensuring correct airflow balancing within the system.
Design and Operational Advantages
- Hybrid Structure: Unlike standard rigid plastic caps, this component is manufactured from premium elastomer with an integrated internal honeycomb reinforcement framework. The flexible outer edges seal tightly against the manifold connection, while the inner core maintains the plug's shape under high pressure.
- Push-fit Installation: Due to the elastic properties of the material, the component is simply pressed into the manifold port by hand. It features a self-sealing design, completely eliminating the need for silicone sealants, glues, or aluminum sealing tapes.
- Aerodynamic Load Resistance: Internal rigid ribs absorb the structural stress from static and dynamic air pressure. Even when the air handling unit operates at maximum capacity, the plug does not vibrate, deform, or get blown out of the manifold connection.
- Absolute Hermetic Seal: The soft rubber edges adapt perfectly to the branch geometry, providing effective protection against micro-leaks and system static pressure losses.
