Insulated 45° Chimney Elbow (Bend)
Product Description
The 45° Elbow (or bend) is a component of IZOKOMPAKT twin-wall chimney systems, designed for a smooth 45-degree change in the flue channel's direction. The main application for this element is bypassing obstacles (such as beams or rafters) and creating a vertical chimney offset. Using two 45° elbows with a straight pipe section between them allows the chimney to be shifted sideways while maintaining its vertical orientation.
Key Features
- Smooth Direction Change: The 45° angle creates significantly less aerodynamic resistance compared to a 90° elbow, which has a positive effect on the draft in the entire system.
- Creating an Offset: The combination of two 45° elbows and a straight pipe allows you to offset a three-layer chimney to the side by a required distance, which is the standard solution for bypassing obstacles.
- Seamless Bended Construction: The bend features a seamless bended construction, ensuring the smoothest possible internal turn for flue gases, minimizing aerodynamic resistance and improving draft.
- Fully Insulated: Like all IZOKOMPAKT insulated chimney components, the elbow is fully insulated to guarantee the maintenance of flue gas temperature and fire safety.

Chimney Offset Calculation
By using two 45° elbows with a straight pipe section in between, the vertical axis of the chimney can be offset by a specific distance. The table below shows the calculated horizontal offset values for various pipe lengths and diameters.

Application & Alternative Solutions
- Mandatory Securing: The connection points of the elbow with pipes must be secured with locking bands.
- Alternative Solutions: For a sharp turn, a 90° elbow is used. For an even smoother offset, a 30° elbow can be used.
