Installation of Heat Recovery Ventilation Systems
Our engineering department provides system design, precise equipment selection, and technical documentation preparation for supply and exhaust ventilation systems with heat recovery. All installation works, ductwork assembly, and equipment integration at the sites are carried out by our reliable installation partner — Akvilon Pro.
We provide comprehensive project management at all stages: from preliminary aerodynamic calculations to the preparation of as-built documentation.
Energy Efficiency and Microclimate Calculations
System design begins with the analysis of regional climate data and energy consumption modeling. The selection of outdoor design temperatures is required to determine the capacity of the heat exchanger, the frost protection pre-heater, and the supply air post-heater.
We supply equipment that meets strict European standards:
- High Efficiency: The minimum thermal recovery efficiency for installed supply and exhaust units is at least 73% (from 68% for rotary heat exchangers).
- Specific Fan Power (SFP): Fans are selected taking into account strict energy consumption limits per cubic meter of air flow.
- Air bypass function: Most units can be equipped with a bypass duct to provide free cooling during the warmer months.
- Indoor Environment Quality: When calculating air exchange, we consider the number of occupants and the specifics of the facility. This guarantees a constant supply of fresh air and maintains a healthy microclimate (at least Category II).
To achieve maximum energy efficiency of the system, we recommend ensuring the building's airtightness.
Fire Safety and Acoustic Comfort
During system design and its subsequent installation by Akvilon Pro specialists, engineering solutions are applied to prevent the spread of structural noise and ensure the fire safety of the ventilation network:
- Noise and Vibration Isolation: Units are connected to rigid ducts via flexible connections, and the main lines are supported by anti-vibration mounts. When mounting units on walls adjacent to living rooms or bedrooms, we pay special attention to additional vibration and sound isolation.
- Sound Attenuation: Silencers are mandatorily calculated and installed in both supply and exhaust ducts to comply with the night-time sound pressure limit of 30 dBA.
- Fire Protection: Transit ducts and their acoustic insulation are made of non-combustible materials.
- Fire Barriers: When ducts pass through fire-resistant walls, fire dampers are installed. Their fire resistance rating strictly matches the parameters of the barrier itself.
Project Implementation Stages
The implementation process for heat recovery systems includes a full cycle of engineering, installation, and bureaucratic procedures:
- Audit and Routing: The engineer assesses the architectural volumes of the premises for duct routing. In technical zones (basements, attics), we design the network to maintain a minimum service clearance of 1.8 m heightNetwork Assembly: Ductwork installation with the mandatory integration of revision hatches before and after units, fittings, and fire dampers to enable future maintenance.
- Commissioning: Instrumental aerodynamic balancing of the network using anemometers and balometers to accurately adjust throttle valves and achieve design air flow rates at each diffuser.
- Handover: Generation of the system passport, signing of concealed works acts (to confirm the fire resistance of structures), and handover of as-built documentation.
