Ventilation system installation

Full-cycle services: from engineering audit to commissioning

Akvilon performs a full cycle of services in the installation of climate and ventilation systems for industrial, commercial, and residential facilities. Our in-house automated production of air ducts and custom sheet metal products allows us to complete projects efficiently, maintaining strict quality control at every stage of the manufacturing process.

Our engineering department provides technical solution development, on-site or remote facility audits (based on floor plans and photos), aerodynamic balance calculations, sketch designs, and fixed construction estimates, determining the budget prior to the commencement of installation works.

Facilities and installation sectors

The company's specialists design and install forced and natural air exchange systems for specific operating conditions:

  • Food industry and catering enterprises: restaurants, cafes, bakeries, canteens, and food preparation facilities.
  • Industrial facilities: factories, metalworking shops, workshops, warehouse complexes, and hangars.
  • Technical rooms: compressor stations, transformer substations, and server rooms.
  • Public and administrative buildings: offices, business centers, educational and medical institutions, and sports halls.
  • Residential sector: energy-efficient ventilation for private houses, country cottages, and multi-apartment residential complexes.
  • Specialized cleanrooms: laboratories, pharmaceutical production, and high-precision manufacturing facilities.

Ventilation for commercial kitchens and HoReCa

Design and installation in the catering sector require neutralizing excess heat from hot cooking zones, as well as extracting steam and fine grease particles. According to EN 16282 standards, isolated airtight ducts made of stainless steel (AISI 304L/316L grades) with a wall thickness of 1.2 mm are installed for kitchen exhaust systems. The use of standard galvanized steel in aggressive environments is not permitted.

Systems are equipped with fully welded exhaust hoods featuring baffle filters that reduce the risk of ignition by capturing grease particles. We also use specialized radial or roof fans where the motor is positioned outside the contaminated air stream. A strict pressure cascade is configured to prevent kitchen odors from spreading into the dining area.

Facility Zone Pressure Level Technological Rationale
Dining Halls Positive (Overpressure) Displaces clean air into production zones, protecting the hall from kitchen odors.
Neutral Zones (Buffers) Neutral Stabilizes airflows when staff move between the hall and the kitchen.
Hot Kitchen / Washroom Negative (Underpressure) Localizes grease aerosols, gases, and steam within the kitchen for forced exhaust extraction.

Industrial ventilation and aspiration

In the industrial sector, installation works include the setup of large-scale supply and exhaust equipment, main aspiration systems, and local extraction points for harmful emissions. We assemble ventilation channels, securely fasten heavy suspended structures, and repair or upgrade existing industrial systems in factories, hangars, and high-rise warehouse complexes.

Heat extraction from compressors and technical rooms

We design and install exhaust systems to cool overheated power equipment (compressors, transformers). Engineering solutions support operations in a summer mode (discharging hot air outside) and a winter mode (redirecting excess heat via an adjustable volume control damper system to heat production areas).

Local exhaust systems

We calculate, manufacture, and install local extraction points directly at the source of contamination: over welding stations and laboratory tables, and in painting booths. The structures are designed according to workplace dimensions and equipped with specific filters.

Public buildings, residential sector, and cleanrooms

For civil and residential buildings (offices, private houses, schools), the priority is maintaining regulatory CO2 levels with minimal energy costs. The installation of supply and exhaust units is carried out by integrating enthalpy or rotary heat exchangers, ensuring efficient thermal energy recovery in winter and reducing cooling losses in summer. Kitchen hoods, sanitary facilities, and garages are equipped with independent exhaust shafts.

When installing ventilation in cleanrooms (pharmaceuticals, microelectronics), precision air conditioners with multi-stage filtration systems are installed. Conditioned air is supplied through ceiling boxes equipped with HEPA filters, while extraction is organized via wall grilles with dust filters located at floor level, guaranteeing controlled unidirectional airflow.

Installation execution stages

Ventilation system installation is carried out strictly in accordance with Latvian Construction Standards (LBN), sanitary regulations, and fire safety requirements:

  • Technical audit: engineer's site visit, assessment of architectural features, load-bearing capacity of structures, and available electrical power.
  • Calculation and equipment selection: determination of air exchange rates, fan static pressure, and selection of duct cross-sections and silencers.
  • Parts manufacturing: in-house production of air ducts, fittings (reducers, tees, bends), and mounting components.
  • Installation works: assembly of ventilation channels, ensuring joint airtightness, installation of fire dampers with fire-retardant sealing at wall intersections, and fitting inspection hatches at duct turns for future cleaning.
  • Commissioning: balancing airflow rates across zones using volume control dampers, configuring automation systems, measuring operational parameters, and preparing as-built documentation for facility handover.
